Howard C. Butcher (son of Levi Butcher and Elizabeth Kinser) was born January 1855 in Lawrence County,Indiana, and died December 1915 in Greeley, KS. He married Evaline Jane Minnick on November 01, 1874 in Lawrence County, Indiana.
Notes for Howard C. Butcher: My great grandparents on my father's mother's side of the family were Howard and Eveline Butcher. When I knew her, Eveline lived with my grandmother (her daughter) Jenny in Beltsville, Maryland, in the 1940s and 1950s, and then died at age 97 or 98 in Kansas while living with another daughter.
When I started my family search project, I found Howard and Eveline in the 1880 US census at FamilySearch.org. They were living in Blue Mound, Linn County, Kansas. I was able to identify that I had the right people because they had two listed children (Carie and Walter) whose names my mother recognized. Later, three more daughters, my grandmother Jenny, Alice, and Edith, would be born. The census has Howard's birthdate as 1855, and birthplace as Indiana. His (unnamed ) father's birthplace is listed as Tennessee, and his (unnamed) mother's birthplace is listed as Virginia.
