| I have been doing some searching on the Philhower family.To my surprise it is alot larger than we thought. My great grandfather Isaac Nelson Philhower served in the Civil war. I also know he was married twice. If anyone has any info on his second wife I would greatly appreciate it. Her name was Emma maiden name Acker I believe, it was also told to me that she was married to a Barnhart and widowed with 5 small children before marrying Isaac. I also am trying to find any info on Jurg Philip Wuhlhauer Philhower before he came to the states.As far as I know he was from Heilbron Germany. He came to America on a ship named Patience in 1748. He married Margaretha Mueller in 1752 in PA.They moved to Hunterdon Co.NJ. Where they built a house in 1758 and had 11 children.In which I am descended from his son John,Frederick,Isacc,Clare,Clare Jr. |
