As to Cook or Cooke, just forget any spelling deviations!  Most records
were entered by someone other than the person they were noting.  That
person, the scribe, the priest, the census taker, spelled the name how HE
wanted it spelled, and most likely the subject had no idea of how the
name
should have been spelled anyway.If you are going to quibble about
spellings
you are going to miss alot of good  clues.
