Kristine Lynn Anderson-Manos and FamilyUpdated January 14, 2006 | |
| Hello! My family is from Sweden. Most came to the United States about the time of the St. Louis World's Fair in 1904. They came from the towns of Finnerodja, Sundsvall, Odeshog, and Rumskala. The last names were Anderson (could have been Grande), Johnson, Carlson, Finnstrom, Wick, Bood, Johansson, Brandt, and Hagstrom. On my dad's side of the family they settled in Escanaba, MI. On my mom's side they settled in Chicago, IL. Most left Sweden because of a severe depression and they came to the United States for the opportunities. I am also reseaching my husband's family. His family is a little bit more diverse and has been in the United States much longer. His family name, Manos, was originally Manolis. That side of his father's family came from Arahneo, Greece and they settled in Chicago, IL. His grandmother on his dad's side was Zuraski and they were from Poland. On his mom's side, they go back to Berlin, Germany and settled in Wisconsin. That is as much as I know thus far..... |
