Rev. Stephen Bachiler (b. 1561, d. 1660)

Stephen Bachiler (son of Phillip Bachiler and Ann ?)^{105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 110} was born 1561 in Hackney, England^{111, 112}, and died 1660 in Hackney, England^{113, 114}. He married Ann Hester Bates on Abt. 1588^{115, 116}.

4th wife is the woman of Hawthorne's SCARLET LETTER (she cheated on him).

St. John's College, Oxford graduate in Nov. 17, 1581 (England)

Came to New England when 71 yrs old on the "William and Francis" on June 5, 1632 with wife Helen.

At 77 yrs old (1638) founded Hampton, NH. (walked 100 miles to get to Cape Cod)

Returned to England at 93 yrs old and lived in parrish of Hackney, 10 miles from London.

Lived to 100 yrs.
