September Court 1777
Halifax Co., VA.

In the name of God Amen, I Obediah Parkers of the Parish or Antrim Parker
in the county of Halifax being at the present in perfect mind and sense
do make this will and my lst will and testament in manner and form
following. First I bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God hoping
for mercy in and through the alone merits of thee-blessed Redeemer Jesus
Christ; my body to be buried at the discretion of my executor herafter
named, and for my wordly goods which it hath pleased Allmughty (mistake
in will) God to bless me-with all I dispose thereof as follows: I lend to
my mother Drusilla Parker my negro girl, Sarah and Dick and horse to my
brother William Parker to him and his heirs forever, and futher I desire
my just debts to be paid. And I constitute and appoint my mother Drusilla
Parker and my brother William Parker Executors of this my last will and
testiment. In witness whereunto I set my hand, affix my seal this the
20th day of August 1777.

At a court held for Halifax Co., the 18th day of September 1777 this last
will and testiment of Obediah Parker decesed, was exhibited in court by
William Parker one of the executors herein named and the same was proved
by the oath of two of the subscribing witnesses herto and ordered to be
recorded. One other motion of the said executor (who made oath hereto
according to law) certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate here
in due form giving security whereupon he together with William Terry his
security enters into and acknowledges bond for the same according to law.
