| i. | DAUGHTER23, b. Abt. 1935. |
|
Notes for DAUGHTER: This daughter was born when Lisa and Heinz were living in Sumatra. They believed she would have survived had she received proper medical treatment (which wasn't available in Sumatra at that time). One of the main reasons they returned to Germany was to ensure they would have access to proper health care if needed for their future children. [email from Iris Nast, May 2002] |

Notes for DR. MED. BARBARA MAILÄNDER: visited Canada in 1960 with her mother, Lisa. Barbara spent some time working in a hospital in Edmonton (as a volunteer intern?) to get medical experience here. She also visited Onkel Gotthold's relatives in North Bay. She visited again in the summer of 2001 -- spent 10 days in Ontario with Betty Anne/Lis, flew to Alberta and spent 2 weeks with Bernie, then drove through the Rockies to Linda's where she spent 10 days and then a week at Iris' on Vancouver island. (times may not be precise. In total she spent 6 weeks in Canada on that trip, arriving at the beginning of July and leaving mid-August.) |

Notes for SON: This child was stillborn. Ilse very nearly died giving birth, and the doctor told them it was very likely that she would not survive another childbirth. So Ilse and Gotthold made the difficult and heartrending decision to forego trying to have any more children. [email from Iris Nast, May 2002] |
