I am tracing the following families, starting with my own and my husband's siblings and parents and working outward and backward.
My father: Baron Bernhard Karl von Tettenborn - born in Tilleda, Germany in 1906; moved to Rostock, Germany as a child; moved to Canada in 1929; married Alma Eritsland in 1933; died Rimbey, Alberta, Canada in 1968.
My mother: Alma Bertine Eritsland - born in Nassau, Minnesota, USA in 1907; moved to Eugene Oregon USA as a child, then to Alberta Canada. Married 1933 as above. Died Red Deer, Alberta, Canada in 1995. (related families: Alvsvag) Her parents both came from Norway.
My husband's (Ian Angus) father: Keith Cole Angus, born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1921, moved to Vancouver as a child. Married Margaret Thomas, 1944. Still living, in Kemptville, ON Canada.(related families: Backhouse, Gray) His father, Warwick Angus, came from England to Canada in the early 1900s.
Ian's mother: Margaret Thomas, born in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada in 1922. Married 1944 as above. Died in Kemptville, ON Canada in 1988. Her parents were German and Islandic.
I am willing to share information on any of the above, and am very interested in hearing from anyone researching those families.

This was also likely taken in Bergen, Norway, in spring 1888 before Anna Marie left for the US. She would have been 19, he 23. They were engaged in Norway; he followed to the US in early 1889, and they married May 25 1889 in St. Paul MN.

Based on the relative ages in the photo (from left to right):
Oscar, Ida, Lars, Lydia (in back), Paul (in front), Emma, Anna Marie, Agnes (baby), Hilda.
Lydia's daughter Aggie Peterson gave photo to her brother Art, wrote on back that it was taken in 1905. Not born yet at the time: Alma, Esther.
This photo would have been taken in Nassau (or nearby Marietta) , Minnesota, where the family lived from 1901 to 1909.

Both Anna Marie and Lars Andreas came from the island of Bømlo, off the SW coast of Norway. They grew up on the farms of Alvsvåg (Anna Marie) and Ersland or Eritsland (Lars) which appear near the centre of the island.
