George, Henry, Jacob, Sally and Nancy Myers came to America from Grand Aley, Zingbach, Saxony, Germany, and settled in Baltimore County, Maryland, sometime prior to 1761 when another Henry was born of George and Sarah Myers. -- T.H. Myers

George Myers came to America in 1745 and settled on the Gunpowder River about 30 miles from Baltimore, Maryland. In 1758, George Myers (also spelled Miers), a Pennsylvania German, was in the milling business. Maryland land commission records indicate that George Myers was residing in the North Hundred near Gunpowder River, Baltimore, Maryland in 1771, where he apparently was leasing two plots, one of 25 acres, and the second a 50 acre plot of Lowes Range. "Lowes Range, 100 acres, surveyed 6th April 1731 for James Lowe - Beginning at three bounded white oaks standing on the North side of a draught which leads into the West side of the Wm Branch of the upper fork of the main falls of Gunpowder river. Possessor Benjamin Cross. 50 Acres, George Myers from John Cross 24th Oct 1765." A A & B Co., Rent Roll No. 2 folio 191. -- Gale Myers.

George Myers signed the Oath of Allegiance in 1778 in Baltimore Co., Maryland, serving as a Second Lieutenant of the Putnam Battery during the Revolutionary War. In testiment whereof the partys have hereto set their hand the day above written. The subscribers being present at the solemnization of said marriage do witness the same.
