1.JohnAdams -1, born ABT 1595 in Wapping, Parish Stepney, East London, Eng.; died ABT 1633 in Plymouth. He married (1) EllenNewton ABT 1625 in Plymouth, Massachusetts. She was born ABT 1598 in Unknown, and died ABT December 5, 1681 in Marshfield, Massachusetts.

John Adams - 1 arrived in Plymouth, Mass. 9 November, 1621, aboard the ship "Fortune", Thomas Burton, Master, which had sailed from London in early July. This was the first ship to arrive in the new colony since the arrival of the Mayflower in November, 1620. Also aboard the Fortune were men who became prominent leaders in the new settlement such as Jonathon Brewster, Thomas Prence, William Pitt, John Winslow, and Phillipe De La Noye. The last named became the ancestor of Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1882-1945), thirty second president of the United States.
