View Tree for Richard Albert BelshamRichard Albert Belsham (b. April 10, 1868, d. date unknown)

Richard Albert Belsham (son of George Belsham and Caroline Aldrich) was born April 10, 1868 in Anns Street, Bethnal Green, and died date unknown in Sebring, Florida, USA. He married (1) Evalyn Camp. He married (2) Annie Dulrey Ferry on Abt. 1887.

Includes NotesNotes for Richard Albert Belsham:
This could have been the Richard Belsham who emigrated to Canada and became a Baptist Minister in Lloydminster (1908-1909) and Oshawa, however, other notes suggest that the Llyodminster Belsham was Richard E. Belsham.

Richard A. Belsham graduated from Spurgeon's College in London, taught school for a few years, then served as Pastor of a Baptist Church in Melbourn, Cambs from 1894-1905. He met Annie Ferry at the Crystal Palace in London, at a singing festival. He was a tenor and she was a soprano. They also played piano and organ. After his marriage to Annie, he went to the USA for his honeymoon. He then visited with his brother in the USA and stayed several years. Their first daughter, Ava, and their first son were born at this time. They returned to Melbourne in England, where Jerry and Rose were born. They went back to the United States where Annie died.

Richard re-married after four years, to Evalyn Olme from Antlanta, Georgia.

Editorial in Newspaper; Caring, Editor, Virginian-Pilot -
The passing of Mrs.
W. R. (Jerry) Taylor of Lochhaven in Norfolk has left a
void in the
community. Though diminutive in stature, she possessed
gigantic compassion
for her fellow human beings. Often she was the first to
say the kind word to
those in distress. She had the magnificent obsession of
doing good without
personal recognition.
In the book of Micah it is written: "What doth the Lord
require of thee, but
to do justly, and to love mercy, and walk humbly with thy
God." Mrs. Taylor
was one of teh very few to follow this Biblical edict. She
made life a
little better for all of us because of it. (Written by
Gordon Dillon,
Norfolk)

A Memorial Service for Geraldine Belsham Taylor who went
into the presence of
her Lord, Jesus Christ, on December 12, 1978. We remember
her with affection
and joy, and we exalt Jesus Christ, the Conqueror of Death,
who brought life
and immortality to light through the gospel. We comfort
the family with the
fact that we sorrow not as others who have no hope; for is
we believe that
Jesus died and rose again, even those who sleep in Jesus
will God bring with
him when He returns. Welcome and Prayer give by Pastor Gene
Garrick. Hymn:
How Great Thou Art. Scripture and Remarks: Pastor Dick
Woodward. Hymn: What
a Friend We Have in Jesus. Comfort and Hope from God's
Word. Pastor Gene
Garrick. Hymn: Bless The Lord, O My Soul. Benediction.

Memorial Services for William Riley Taylor, Sr., January
31, 1987:
Why are we here? First we want to 'pay our respects." We
say by our
presence, "Mr. W. R. Taylor, Sr., was significant in my
life, and his death
leaves a void." Second, we want to show our care and
concern to the Taylor
family. We share the pain and grief as well as offer love
and continuing
concern. Third, we celebrate God's sovereignty over both
life and death. At
this Christian service we worship God together and recall
with gratitude that
although we do not know what the future holds, we do know
who holds the
future. We rejoice in knowing that 'Whether we live or
die, we belong to the
Lord." (Romans 14:8) Finally, we need to consider our own
mortality, the
quality of our own lives as well as our eternal destiny.
When I pass from
life into eternity, will Jesus Christ summarize my life
with these climactic
lines: "Well done, good and faithful servant!" (Matthew
25:23) Welcom and

The News Peace, Newsletter of Physicians for Peace, Volume
4, Number 2,
Summer 1993 related an article - Board Member
Profile...Robert T. Taylor by
Marnie Morgan, Correspondent.
Robert T. Taylor, a native of Norfolk, VA, and Trustee and
Treasurer of
Physicians for Peace is the president of The Taylor
Companies, a group of
companies representing commercial warehousing, document
management, salt
products, and chemical storage.
The very versatility of his businesses reflects Bob
Taylor's management
skills which he shared with other talented trustees at
their meeting in Palm
Beach, Fla., in May. As with many organizations, more help
is needed...a
separate facility for PFP offices with living/study
quarters for visiting
physicians. Mr. Taylor rapidly shared his ideas for PFP
during the meeting
and his genuine enthusiasm was transferred immediately to
all who came in
contact with him. His leadership skills invoke trust and
confidence.
The Taylor Foundation, founded by Bob Taylor's father,
William, and his three
brothers, D.E., Alfred, and Leslie, have guided significant
support to
health-related benefits of Hampton Roads, Virginia and more
particularly to
PFP. Originally founded to build and support a community
hospital in Sea
Level, North Carolina where the Taylor brothers were
raised, the Foundation
has continued its medical emphasis. In Hampton Roads, the
Taylor Foundation
has underwritten the microsurgery clinic at Eastern
Virginia Medical School
and, most recently, undertaken a five-year contribution of
$125,000 to
enhance the Medical Scholars Program of PFP.
Mr. Taylor is married to the former Margo Dunaway of
Conway, AR; they have
two sons, Rob, 17, and Clark, 15.
"Hopefully, my entire family will join me on my first
overseas trip for PFP;
Jordan and the West Bank are expected to be my maiden
voyage. Margo and I
hope to understand more about the Middle East culture and
determine how to
incorporate what we learn to more effectively employ the
medical education
formula utilized by PFP. We hope that our boys, who are a
third-generation
legacy of community involvement, will not only see this
trip as an adventure,
but will enlighten their perception of other cultures and
the necessity of
their generation to meet its responsibility to reach out to
others." Mr.
Taylor is very supportive of such groups as the Boys and
Girls' Clubs, Old
Dominion University, Campbell University, Fishburne
Military Academy, and
Norfolk Christian Schools. They are tennis and sailing
enthusiasts. A
devoted couple who understand the demands of caring and
nuturing, the Taylors
would be the first to say they work as a team.
PFP is a natural outlet for the expertise of Bob Taylor.
He has been
involved with it since its beginning in 1985. HIs business
diversity and
acumen alert him to recognizing need and implementing
change, a quality
appreciated in the directorship of PFP. His family values
reach out to the
generation both before him and after him and it is these
values that will
help ensure the philosophy and future of PFP. Mr. Taylor
has proven
commitment to a healthy world through time, effort, and
funding. He is well
described in the adage, "If you want a job well done, ask a
busy man." We at
PFP are the most fortunate recipients of his talents.
Charles E. Horton,
M.D., PFP Chairman, acknowledges Bob's talents and says
that, "His
encouragement, business skillsss, and organization
activities have enriched
PFP throughout the world."
