I am researching the descendants and ancestors of Ferdinard ARKENBERG, my great grandfather. He was born in Germany and sailed to America about 1850. Ferdinand traveled by wagon to San Francisco, California and prospected for gold and found a good amount. He made his way back to Ohio where he bought a homestead farm near Minster, Ohio. Ferdinand gave land to build a Catholic Church in Minster. I am seeking any information about his brothers and sisters, his wife and children. Also about his parents. I also have heard that there is a small town near Hannover in north Germany named Arkenberg. Any information would be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information that I have. I would be most happy to hear from any relatives from the ARKENBERG Families no matter how distantly related. |
