My oldest ARMS/ARMES ancestors are my Great Great Great Great grandparents, Edward and Miss (McHenry) ARMS of Virginia. Very little is known about them except for their children. I am searching for these GGGGgrandparent's parents and vital statistics (dates & locations). Their son, Micajah, and his family migrated to Tennessee and then on to Hardin County and Breckinridge County, Kentucky, approximately 1814. My family history in Breckinridge County began when Micajah married his third wife, Frances (Dowell)(Maysey), creating my GGGgrandparents. Many descendants from Micajah and his second wife, Mary (McDowell) also settled in Breckinridge County.
My research has taken me to numerous cemeteries with weather-worn headstones, dilapidated homesteads, and towns that are not on maps any longer. But still, I never fail to find connections to my ancestors in the general vicinity of Breckinridge County. Many of my "other" grandparents that married into the ARMES family are: BASHAM, DAVIS, DOWELL, COLLINS, MEADOR, ROBBINS, and SIMMONS. Write or email me because I am equally eager to trade information on any of my kinfolk. - Tony
