| Hopefully this page will lead to further information about the direct ancestors of the children of the Arnott/Clare family of Winnipeg Manitoba, 1953-2009 (so far!) We have done dna testing as follows: Arnott Y chromosome: I1a (Norse) Donaldson/Martin mtdna: H (celtic) Clare Y chromosome: I1a (Norse) Perpete/Chambon mtdna: H (Celtic) The Arnotts migrated from Teaswater Ontario to Portage la Prairie in the late 1800s; Donaldson/Martin family originated in the Peterborough Ontario area. The Clare/Blyth family came together in Ottawa/Montreal in the 1870's; Blyth came directly from Dublin. Clare was Ontario born. The Perpete/Chambon group landed in Saskatchewan, and originated from Belgium(Tintigny) and southern France (Rousillon) |
