The Arnott Clare family of Manitoba

Updated August 26, 2009

Hopefully this page will lead to further information about the direct ancestors of the children of the Arnott/Clare family of Winnipeg Manitoba, 1953-2009 (so far!)

We have done dna testing as follows:

Arnott Y chromosome: I1a (Norse)
Donaldson/Martin mtdna: H (celtic)

Clare Y chromosome: I1a (Norse)
Perpete/Chambon mtdna: H (Celtic)

The Arnotts migrated from Teaswater Ontario to Portage la Prairie in the late 1800s; Donaldson/Martin family originated in the Peterborough Ontario area.

The Clare/Blyth family came together in Ottawa/Montreal in the 1870's; Blyth came directly from Dublin. Clare was Ontario born.

The Perpete/Chambon group landed in Saskatchewan, and originated from Belgium(Tintigny) and southern France (Rousillon)
