I am researching The Schoolmaster John Arnold--aka William Ramsden Connection; his Ancestors and Decendents; his wife Mary's ancestors. After arriving in America from Yorkshire, Eng. he became one of the 1st schoolmasters in Newark, Prov. East Jersey; later lived in Killingsworth, CT, Norwich, CT, Windham, CT, and lastly in Mansfield, CT. One year before he died, he declared before the CT Court that he was in reality William Ramsden, eldest son of Sir William Ramsden, Lord of Bilton, of Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire, Eng.
