| The major family names included in this home page are the Arnettes, (or all the other spellings Arnett, Arnott, Arndt, etc.), Dismukes, McKnights, McBrooms, and Williams. I have verified Samuel Arnette arrived in Rutherford County, Tennessee sometime before 1810. He appears on the 1810 census for Rutherford County. I am still researching where Samuel began his journey. The Dismukes settled in Virginia and our branch moved to Tennessee. The McBrooms and the McKnights followed a similar pattern. Moving from Scotland to Ireland before immigrating to Pennsylvania then down to North Carolina. A cousin Jimmy Carter has located the Williams family history from North Carolina and it is now included, as well as information on other related branches. I now have many reasons to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. As my journey into the past has continued, I have found that my Scottish-Irish roots run deep. |
