| Richard H. Smith born 1821 in Grant or Bourbon County, Kentucky. He married Mary Cleveland Baird 1846 in Harrison County, Ky and died 1897 in same county. Children were James Samuel, John Thomas and Nancy E. Possible brother to Richard was Jesse E. Smith who married Rosey Ann Baird 1836 in Grant County. Jacob J. Smith was born in New Jersey, moved to North Carolina and then to Kentucky where he married Mary (Polly) Stewart in Bourbon County in 1806. Jacob was in Grant County by 1830 and applied for a revolutionary war pension there in 1834. Could Jacob Smith and Mary Stewart be Richard's parents? |
