I am researching the BRADY and KNIGHT families from Lowberry, Ballinlough, County Roscommon, Ireland. Mary Brady Knight (1819-1888) and Martin Knight (1815-1891) had 9 children: Martin, Anne, John, Ellen, Thomas, Roger, Mary, Patrick and Michael. She emigrated to the U.S. before 1880 with several of her grown children, leaving behind her husband, Martin, and one child, Michael. She settled in the Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh, PA, where several of her other children, who emigrated before 1870, lived. Little is known of Michael and the descendents of John, who died of tuberculosis in 1883 in Pittsburgh (Railroad St., Lawrenceville). John left a wife, Margaret FLATLEY, and 5 children: Kate, Rose, Lyda, Thomas and John. Also interested in information about Father John C. Brady, brother of Mary, who emigrated in 1843 and founded a church in Hollidaysburg, PA. He sponsored other Brady family members who emigrated later and settled in the Hollidaysburg area. |
