McDONNELL Notes; William was the best-man at Ellen's 1st wedding to Edward Jeroleman in 1890, and then after Edward dies in 1907, William married Ellen, were Edward & William that good of friends ? Did Edward ask William to look after his wife and kids ? Or was there something more ?? Edward and Ellen's last child was born in 1906 and was named William Jeroleman. With less then 6 weeks between the death of Edward and her marriage to William, makes you wonder ! Also in Edward's obit, there is no mention of a wife or children. Edward is buried in CHS that borders Newark . William & Ellen are buried at Hollywood Cem. in Union, N.J.. William's parents are buried at CHS. Also ,,, on my uncle's baptism (1930) the "god father" was listed as William McDonnell , did Ellen & Edward's youngest child take the name of his step-father ?? or was her father the "god father",, there is no listing for him in the SSDI under either name of McDonnell or Jeroleman. SMITH Notes; Owen & Catherine had 6 children, James 1857-???? * Elizabeth 1859-???? married Philip Jackson.... Rose Anna 1861-???? * Mary 1863-???? married Matthew Kane then, Frances Staubach... Catherine 1865-???? married George A. Barden Ellen 1869-1931 married Edward Jeroleman and had 6 children,. then she married William McDonnell 1 child was born (Catherine-my line) * = was missing by the 1880 Federal Census after contacting the cemetery that Owen & Catherine are buried at, I discovered that James & Rose Anna are also buried there, also 2 other children are buried there, Charles Smith and one with the in. J.A.S. or J.O.S., these 2 died in infancy about the same time frame as James & Rose-Anna. Then I found a baptism for a Charles Smith dated 1880 , mother- Rose Anna Smith, father-Charles Smith. Could be the same Rose Anna ? Was there an "out break" Did she died in or after child birth ??
