Lynn Troyansky Arroyo's Family Tree Home page

I am researching the Troyansky family who came from Ukraine in the late 1890s. I am interested in knowing where the family lived before 1850. My great-grandfather was Chaim Mortke Trojansky, b.1820, d.1923. He is buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Maspeth, NY. Chaim came to the U.S. in 1907 from Romanovka, Ukraine. His first wife was Sophie Zamhofsky, and his second wife was Maryum Ruchel Trojansky (same maiden name!). Maryum was known as 'Rosie' to some, and 'Meema Chaimka' to other family members.

I am also interested in learning more about the Arroyo side of my family. Do they have roots in Europe? Might they have been conversos during the Spanish Inquisition?

My father-in-law's grandfather was Rodulfo Arroyo y Cremill. The name Cremill might be wrong, but that was how it looked on the 1900 Puerto Rico Census. His mother's name was Maria Pujols, and family lore has it that her family came from the Catalan area of Spain.

If you think you may be connected to either of these families, please feel free to email me. I am willing to share information with you!
