1.ARTHUR1 ARRINGTON1 was born Abt. 17802, and died October 22, 1849 in Wayne Co, MS3.He married MILLY ANN4 1808 in SC5.She was born Abt. 1788 in Edgefield Co, SC6, and died November 15, 1850 in Wayne Co, MS7.
Notes for ARTHUR ARRINGTON:
Arthur & Millie were from Edgefield Co, SC and migrated into Eucutta, MS in 1817.They brought slaves with them, and started a plantation.
Family legend has it that three brothers left England together, (from somewhere close to Wales), and immigrated to South Carolina.Each brother had received their share of their inheritance from the family steel business when they left England.
All three brothers migrated west.One stopped in Alabama, Arthur stopped in Eucutta, MS, and the third brother continued on and settled in Conroe, TX.

In 1990,Forrest "Jim" Arrington talked to a man named Arrington,from Alabama, who stated that his family originally came from Edgefield Co, SC.
Forrest Henry's name was listed in the family Bible of the Arringtons in Conroe, TX.
Estelle (Arrington) Jenkins has information prepared by Bobbie Arrington (Roswell, NM) that shows Arringtons all through the Angelina County area of Texas.(See Footnotes of specific information.)
Arthur fought at New Orleans in the War of 1812, and took land instead of pay.
Jim was also told by the descendants of Arthur's neighbors that the Arringtons owned 1200 acres of cotton, plus several hundred acres of other crops.They had two houses, the largest one being called "The White House", plus several cabins for the workers. The" White House" overlooked the Eucutta Creek.
Arthur and Millie Ann had services on the plantation every Sunday, for the family as well as the workers.
After the Civil War, the Arringtons gave each slave family 40 acres probably to share crop, a wagon, a team of mules, and some farm equipment to get started on their own.Several of the workers took the Arrington name.(This info according to Jim's father, Forrest McKinley Arrington).
Most of the rest of the land was eventually bought by a timber co, (after 1925) which destroyed the buildings and at least partially destroyed an old cemetery with rock markers.
There is another OLD Arrington cemetery, with markers, owned by Mr. Moore.He has been cooperative with the family in allowing research to be made.The only headstones remaining are for Thomas Arrington and an infant son of Thomas's, A. E. Arrington.There were supposed to be about 12 graves there.
Burrell Arrington donated land near Boyles Chapel in about 1870 for a third Arrington Cemetery.This one is still in existence.Bob Arrington had a home across from it.The home was bought by a man named Davis, who used the same wood of Bob's house to make his home.The home is now owned by the West family.
Arthur fixed a family Bible for each of his children with family information.At least some of the Bibles were printed in the year 1829.

There is a land grant to Arthur Arrington in Jasper Co, MS in 1835 (Section 18, and Section 24).
Arthur's will was made September 4, 1847 and filed for probate in 1852.(Some of the records burned in the courthouse fire).This information from "Miscellaneous Records of Southeast Mississippi", Book 1.
