Frank Arthur was a soldier and sailor with the Confederate Nation in the Civil War. He left home at age 16, joined the Kentucky Volunteers under Gen Breckenridge and then in Louisiana he became a midshipman in the Confederate Navy. He later was captured crossing the Potomoc after being transferred to Gen R.E. Lee's command. He retired to the soldiers home in Tennessee and then to Richmond where he died in 1930.
