Interview with Agnes Ahern on Jan 20, 1979 at her home 3939 Roland Ave:
Agnes told me that Patrick Ahern had seven children by his first wife and four children by his second wife. He was a politician and had 100 houses in a place called Rosecran in CO Cork, Ire. My Grandmother had a half sister named Hannah George. Millard was her married name. Patrick Ahern owned "Key of Heaven" prayer book. My grandmother, Agnes, was a twin. Her twin died when he was two years old. Her brother, Jerome, was Agnes Ahern's father. Grandmother had two half sisters who went to Boston.
Brian O'Hern, the movie actor who went to Trinity College is a relative. Dorothy Kilgallon is related to the Aherns. Her mother was an Ahern. Grandmother Ahern's (Mary Ford) brother was Henry Ford(?). They had the same father. The Aherns were horse people.
Her brother Jerome never married. He died on July 22, 1969. Mill Springs National, Somerset Kentucky. He changed his name to Joseph Cullen. He died in Detroit, MI. Worked for a Brewery and was a veteran of the first world war. He ran away (I presume a orphanage), hooked a train to Pittsburgh, stayed in the Penn Hotel and went to the boats. Was a Mississippi River boat captain. Worked for the White Star Line, Great Lakes Training Center.
Her mother was Mary Mae Welch. Her mother was a Finnerty. She had five brothers who went to Pottstown, PA. Her father died when she was a baby. He worked as a licensed plumber for the Telephone Co. (Old MD Line). Buried in St Peters in Thornton's grave. Mother died in 1923 and is buried in Bonnie Brae. Agnes was associated with the Dorseys; on St John's road in Roland Park and a family called Fleckenschildt. She also worked for O'Neill's and the Clothes Tree as a fitter from 1933 to 1947.
Pat Burns lived with the Healy's. His sister, Mary, married Martin Healy. They all lived on McDonough St. There was Edward Healy, Frank Healy, Tom Healy, Robert Healy. Two Healy's are doctors at St. Agnes. Healy's were politicians.
Great Grandfather James Burns raised the Healy's. He was a soldier in the civil war and had his nose shot off. His wife was Margaret Dempsey. Her brother was a teacher in England.

Interview with Eleanor Hurley, November 23, 1984 at her home 411 Hollins St, Baltimore, MD. Agnes left $70000 in stock when she died. Invested $100 that O"Neill gave her when they closed their store. Agnes invested it in Legg Mason and benefited from several splits. Eleanor said that Agnes kept this account from her even when they went to the Safe Deposit Box. She left a will giving $500 to one person and $5000 to another. The person who received the $5000 was flabbergasted because she didn't think Agnes had any money. She visited Agnes on Christmas and brought her a flower. Some third cousins are making a claim to the money and Eleanor wanted to see if there were other cousins. Eleanor is the personal representative. Eleanor told me that when Agnes's father died(at age 21) she and her brother were placed in foster homes in St. Mary's County. Eventually she was in Baltimore attending the St. Joseph's school of Industry where the Hurley's first made contact with her. She learned to sew there. She went to live with Hurleys. Lived with them until Eleanor got married at which time she moved out. She didn't want Eleanor to marry. She came to live with the Hurley"s at about age 14 or 15.
