| Looking for information about my seventh generation ancestor, Isaac Assaban, married to Berakha Berab, daughter of Jacob Berab,Talmud Rabbi, born in Maqueida,near Toledo,(Spain) in 1474 Jacob Berab was Chief Rabbi in Fes,(Morocco). I suspect that it is in Fes that my ancestor Isaac Asaban married his daughter. J.Berab was also Chief Rabbi in Tlemcen (Algeria),in Cairo (Egypt). Famous for his Essay for the Rebirh of a Sanhedrin. He was the teacher of Joseph Caro. Jacob Berab died in 1456, in Safed (Palestine). |
