| The Families of ANDERSON - ASHBY - BARTON - BELL - BUSBY - CHITWOOD - CLARK - FANNING - FITZGERALD -GRAHAM - HARGROVE - HOWELL - JEFFERSON - LANDESS/ERS/IS - LAM(B) - MEADERS - MCCARTY - NORRIS - PRICKETT - QUILLIAN/EN/IN - RALPH/RELF/ROLF - ROGERS - TERRY - VAUGHAN - WILSON - WOMACK The Above Names are the primary ones being researched by me, at the present time. Connecting lines are included in the paragraphs below - My husband's family of ASHBY is in VA , beginning in early 1700's the progenitor at this time is, Thomas ASHBY who married Rose BERRY?, (definitely not proven but some connection) Our line comes down through Robert > Enoch > Robert > Enoch Robert (who was born in KY and moved to Texas before 1860) > John Enoch > who is my husbands great grandfather. The ASH, WALKER, HENDERSON?, (not proven) CLINE/KLINE, HARDIN, ROGERS, MELTON, GRAHAM, LAM(B), FITZGERALD, GIBSON, McGEE, FRANKLIN and WOMACK lines are connected to this family. The BARTON Family is from VA - SC - AL - TX spanning from 1700's to 1880's in TX. John Barton is the progenitor and I descend through his son Benjamin Barton and Dorcas ANDERSON. The BAILEY, CARNEY, BAKER, BROWN, McCARTY, CLARK, families are connected here. The Barton and McCarty's were in Tx by 1840. The CLARK Family is the one I have the most info on. They originate in the US, in old Rappahannock/Northumberland Co., and Richmond Co's, VA in the 1650's. My ancestor is Henry Clark. The names of Alexander, William and Nathan are used every generation in this family. The WEBB family, JEFFERSON, MERONEY, MOTT, DODSON, DUDLEY, BRYAN, BUSBY, BYNUM, BELL, LASSITER/LASETER, WILSON, ROBERTSON/ROBERSON, SMITH, WILSON and many other names from the Orange, Chatham, Johnston, Wake, Moore, Durham and Wilson Co.s in NC are connected to this family. My Clark ancestors were in TX by 1860 The CHITWOOD Family is from very early VA. The proven progenitor is Matthias Chitwood/Chetwode/Cheatwood, etc. My line comes down through the James Chitwood, who was the Royalist Capt. who was hanged, after the Battle of Kings Mountain. The families in N.C. related are the WHITESIDES, BIGGERSTAFF, HORTON and others in the Rutherford Co. area. The family moved to GA in the 1820's and are connected to the MEADERS, JUSTICE, GARRISON, HARGROVE, MEADERS, PRICKETT, QUILLIAN, PARKS, HARWELL, FINGER and other related families of North GA. My branch went to Colorado, back to GA and then to TX., by 1890. My GRAHAM Family is in NC before 1795, in Surry Co.and Patrick Co., VA., about the same time. The earliest proven, is John/Jehu Graham/Grimes/Grayham who was married to Mary PENNINGTON in Patrick Co., Va, in 1798. My branch, was in AL/TN by the time AL became a state (1819) and came to TX in 1902. The names tied to this line are FANNING, HOWELL, LANDESS, THOMPSON, HODGE, EUSTACE, HOLDER, STEWART/STUART, HUBBARD and others of the Madison, Jackson, Decatur, Marshall Co. areas of AL. My VAUGHAN/VAUGHN family originates in VA. in the early 1700's, with William and the first names in this line are Stephen, Drewery, Wm. B. and Alonzo ( my great-grandfather ). The collateral lines here are TERRY, BARKSDALE, ARNOLD, WILLIFORD/WILSFORD, BEAVERS, JOHNS and RALPH. They went from VA to NC to TN then to TX. Some of these folks are DAR, UDC, DRT, Colonial Dames of the XVII Cent. and Jamestown Lineages. Some connect to Magna Charta Barons and earlier. I won't go into any other connections at this time..
