| We are the Ashton/Reed families of King George, Virginia, since around 1780. Our earliest ancestors had the same roots in the Pierce family of regions in the southern parts of VA. Martha Pierce Ashton Ball has furnished us with most of the available information. Walter Pierce was apparently her father, and his other relatives married into the Reed/Taylor families. Earlier sources of the Ashtons prove to be from Lancaster, England. We now have on record some 350 surnames partnered into these families, and approximately 2000 individuals listed on computer.
