* Daniel Lee Ashton Jr. & Catherine Lee Terry Genealogy Page*

Updated October 7, 2000

Dan's family tree includes Samuel Ashton who came to the USA from England in the early 1800's and settled in Rochester, NY and then moved outside of Rochester to Parma, NY. Other names on the Ashton tree are Pickens, Gardner, Thousand, Olmsted and Wise. On my mother's side her maiden name was Kelley (Though it has been spelled Kelly). The Kelley's came from Ireland through Canada and settled in Corning, NY. Other names include Brann, Peters, Lovitz, Maxwell, Bervee and Ericson.
Cathy's family tree is quite extensive. She is the 12th great-grandaughter of the Pilgrim, John Alden on her father's side. John Plympton, was an important man in colonial Mass, he was also the only relative we know who was burned at the stake by Indians, came over in 1640. Other names on the Terry side include, Cottrell, Marble, Shephard and Simmons to name a few. Some of this is well documented in a book called the The Marbles of Bristol, (NY).

The Pratt side has been around equally as long with Phenias Pratt arriving in 1622 on the Sparrow. Other ancestors of the Pratt's settled in Ontario, NY in the early 1800's from MA and include Jinnings, Dodge, Richmond. Her Grandfather's (Homer B. Pratt) mother was Beatrice Craven from Kellog, IA where we understand family reunions may still be happening back in IA. Others names included Brandt and Klock.
