A note in my files, source unknown, says that George b.1732 left home
for
California abt.1849, mother alive, father dead. Went back to NY and
brought
mother to Panguitch where she died. This information about his
fathers death
conflicts with commonly reported death in 1864 in Nebraska.

DeForrest 3/17/06 ltr resolves my confusion about what George b.1794
was doing
in Nebraska. DeForrest says "(George) and his wife went to DeWitt,
Iowa with
their last children, and in 1864 they started with their sons George
and John
for Utah. They were in wagons, and on the way (George) took sick and
died, and
was buried at the mouth of the N. Platt River in Nebraska. D. the 17
Aug 1864.
The rest went on and after a while went to Arizona."

Patnode looked in Film #165986 NY Church Records, Church of God,
Stafford, NY.
Her Aug 27 1993 letter gives information from the church records about
Sevy,
White and Watson. It includes a Mary Sevy (Mary Grove) and a Gove
Sevy.
