Graham R. ASHDOWN of Hastings, East Sussex, UK

My Father Ronald William ASHDOWN,born in St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex 1921. He served in the Royal Army Medical Core in India & Burma, and later worked as a Jewellery salesman and started training as a dispenser with Boots the Chemists. He died prematurely,aged 36 at Kings College Hospital in London in 1956.
My Grandfather was Sydney William ASHDOWN, ex-army and a Master Plumber. He also lived in St Leonards-on Sea, and was greatly involved in St John's Ambulance as was my Father, Ronald ASHDOWN.
My Grandfather was born in St Mary-in-the-Castle, a district of Hastings, East Sussex. My Great Grandfather was William Sidney ASHDOWN, also a plumber, My Great Grandmother was Margaret Alice ASHDOWN formerly HILLIER (?)
My Great Aunty was Peggy ASHDOWN, who married Percy EVANS, so she became Peggy EVANS and emigrated about 1920 to Alberta and Nakusp in British Colombia, Canada, where I beleive they built a house and a church.
There is a rumour that one of my ancestors was Obadiah ASHDOWN, a smuggler, buried in Hollington Church in The Woods, but as yet, I have not found the evidence.
