I have many branches to my tree! The Cady family begins with Nicholas Cady (1615-1710) who came from England to Connecticut in 1630 as an indentured servant. The Millman line begins in Clintondale, New York with my ancestor Amasa Sprague, who during the American Revolution helped to build the chain across the Hudson River below West Point to thwart the British. He is buried in a beautiful Quaker cemetery in Clintondale along with his wife, Sarah Evans. My Ashley tree begins in Springfield, Massachusetts with "Robert the Settler" Ashley (1620-11/29/1683). This grew into a huge family which spread out over the New England area and was active in the Revolution, among others. My particular branch relocated to Jackson, Minnesota, from Hancock, New York (Welch Ashley 6/1/1808-2/23/1885). His youngest son John Charles Fremont Ashley relocated to the Wahington Territory in 1875, where a good portion of my family now resides. Lots of history just seems to go everywhere! I am happy to share and happy to add to this growing living tree. Please help me grow! |
