The Ashby Family originate from the West and Mid Midland counties of England. With a troubled history.

Our history becomes difficult to piece together by the time you reach the english civil war. The Ashby Family where royalists, and their castle (What remains is situated at Ashby De La Zouche)was surrounded by Oliver cromwells Army. They prevented food and other resources from entering the castle. Alot of the occuants perished. EXCEPT the ever resourceful ones. A secret tunnel allowed people to escape to the nearby town & Safety.

As an Ashby descendant it has to be my mission to trace to modern Family back to its origins...
