| I am researching Germans who left their homes in 1762 to live in Russia. The Asmus line begins with David, m. to Maria Katherine Schneider in Oberdorf (1873-1958). They came to Michigan in 1911. The other part of this family came from Dreispitz on the Volga River and starts with Reinhardt Schmidt (1855-1926) m. Maria Katharina Heinze. They settled in Kansas in 1908.Also researching Gustav Zacharias (1871-1956) m. Justina Schmidt, who came to Michigan in 1907. They lived in the Polish-Russia section of Volhynia (the Ukraine). Much information was found on the Schmidt line but can find nothing on Zacharias.Very willing to share any information. |
