QUESTION OF THE DAY: Who were the parents of Herbert C. Collins?
Welcome! My name is Cheryl Stephens Athey and I am the great-great-great granddaughter of Herbert C. Collins. I have been researching the Collins family as a hobby for almost nine years now. As of today, I have nearly 1,000 individuals (10 geneartions) and 258 different surnames in my family database. However, in all the information I have gathered, there is one piece of data that continues to elude me: Who were the parents of my great-great-great Grandfather? Conflicting census records show NC and SC as places of birth so it is possible that he was born close to the NC/SC border, maybe in Polk, Anson or Rutherford County, NC or Greenville or Spartanburg County, SC. I do know that he lived his entire adult life in Spartanburg County, SC.
My hope is that I can share the details of our family here for visitors like you to review and maybe, just maybe, I can get the lead I need to move my research forward. Please take a moment to review the data and contact me should you have any information you think may be helpful.
Wishing you much success in your family research...
