* Peter Adkins of Boone County, West Virginia*

Updated October 27, 2012

My ancestors came to the New World in the middle of the 17th century. They first settled in eastern Virginia. By 1800 many of them had moved over the mountains into what would become West Virginia.

I am researching the Adkins/ Atkins, Massey, Dorsey, Stewart, Scott, Carr, Schoonover, Petry and Cooper family lines.

Thanks to my long-suffering wife Dena; my cemetery and courthouse researchers, Wes and Dad; Daniel Scott, author of "Those Incredible Scotts"; Edna Mae Long, Dorothy Buckley, Larry Scott and Patty Sebok for providing valuable information.

I strive to provide accurate information. All additions and corrections are welcome.
