OBITUARY:Emma C. Gardner, 86, of Muleshoe and formerly of Breckenridge,
died at 8:15 A.M. Thursday in a Muleshoe nursing home after a one-year illness.
Funeral services were to be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Melton Chapel of Memories with
the Rev. James D. Gardner, pastor of Rock Chapel Baptist Church of Hobbs, NM.,
officiating.Burial was to follow in the Woodson Cemetery under the direction
of Melton Funeral Home.
The former Emma Catherine Atkinson, was born Aug. 18, 1892, in Comanche County.
She married A. A. Gardner in 1910.They moved to Woodson from Comanche in
1927. She moved to Breckenridge in 1967 and to Muleshoe in 1977.
Mr. Gardner died in 1960.She is survived by a daughter, Nita Hurford of
Woodson; two sons, Jim of Eastland and the Rev. Doug Gardner of Circleback; 15
grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
