MICHELLE ANN JURFORD weds MICHAEL HEATH McCandless
Michelle Ann Hurford of Arlington and Michael Heath McCandless of Garland
were united in marriage at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, 10 Sep, at Most Blessed
Sacrament Catholic Church in Arlington. Monsignor Hurbert J. Neu officiated
the ceremony. A reception followed at the DFW Airport Marriott in Irving, with
entertainment by the The Dave Tanner Band.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary T. Hurford of Arlington.
She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Nita Hurford and the late W. B. Hurford, Sr.
of Woodson, Texas, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Santos Salinas of Falfurrias, TX.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David E. McCandless of Hot Springs, AR.
and the late Mrs. Millicent Davene Williams of Brooklyn, NY. He is the grand-
son of Mrs. Nola McCandless and the late Mr. Henry McCandless of Mena, AR., and
the late Mrs. Margie O'Neil and Mr. Albert O'Neil of Mena, AR.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full length white satin
gown designed by Ilissa. Large cameos of cut out detail and beading of sequins
and pearls adorned the center of the chapel length train, bordered in a
scalloped embroidered lace. The bride wore a fingertip length three-tiered
veil, scattered with pearls. The bridal bouquet consisted of white roses,
gardenias, Casablanca lilies and freesia.
Neysa Lambeth of McKinney served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids included
Laura Davis of Texarkana, Yvonne Perez, cousin of the bride of Austin, Gina
Hurford of Frankston, Therese Hurford of Louisville, KY. and Vicki Young of San
Antonio. Samantha Pena, cousin of the bride of Falfurrias served as
flower girl. Members of the house party included Diana De Los Santos, Mary
Lerma both of San Antonio and Suzie Tittle of Ft. Worth.
Paul Reyna of Garland served as best man. Groomsmen included Will Clark
of Mesquite, Shane Johnson of Lubbock, Mike Spruill of Rockwall, Brian Swinney,
cousin of the groom of Mesquite, and Berton Williams, Jr., brother of the groom
of Garland. Ushers were David Hurford of Frankston and Dr. G. Michael Hurford
of Louisville, KY., both brothers of the bride, Mike Placier of Dallas and Jay
Riley of Garland. The ring bearer was Oscar Cavazos III, cousin of the bride
of Edinburg, TX. Jay Prothro, cousin of the groom of Humble, served as a
reader.
The bride is a graduate of Lamar High School in Arlington and the
University of Texas at Austin, where she received a bachelor's of science
degree in advertising. She is an Advertising Coordinator at D Magazine.
The groom is a graduate of Hot Springs High School in Hot Springs, AR.,
and Garland County Community College in Hot Springs, where he received as
associate of arts degree in business administration. He is currently employed
by City Wide Locksmiths of Dallas.
After a honeymoon in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple will reside in
