My homepage, linked below, has HAMPTON, GLENN, ATTEY, GILMORE and other family documents, and Jackson County Illinois information, along with historical documents of general interest. Please stop by.
I am researching my HAMPTON/GLENN roots. I have been unable to prove where my GLENNs originate. I first locate Manning GLENN born in Southern Illinois in 1826. His father was Thomas B. Glenn and his mother was Alice Davis. His siblings were Elias, John, Thomas, Mary Ann ( Polly ) who married first Samuel Massey, then Leonard Woolrick and finally Elisha Adams, and Malinda who married A. J. Davis. Manning and most of his siblings lived their entire lives in Jackson County, IL. I would like to identify where this family originated and find out everything I can about each of the sibling's families.
John HAMPTON died about 1818 in Rutherford County TN leaving his wife and children: John, James, Thomas, William, Richard, Mary, Rebecca, Martha, and his youngest, Isaiah who was b 1812. Isaiah m Lydia Crumpler in Bedford County TN and their children, all born in TN, were: William b 1830, Louisa b 1833, Wiley Andrew Jackson ( known as A.J. ) b 1835, James b 1837, Nancy Elizabeth b 1839, John b 1841 and Marion Lafayette b 1843. Most of the family went to Missouri in the mid 1860's. William went to IL. Louisa was married to Young Kerr and they stayed in TN. James, John and Marion later went to AR. Isaiah died in AR in about 1886. I Would like to share information about this HAMPTON family. (Go to my homepage, linked below, to see John's will.)
