He married (2) Laura Belle Bragg on 02 Oct 1942 in Saratoga, Randolph, Indiana³⁰⁹, daughter of Henry B Bragg and Charlotte Elizabeth Harshman.

But Eli needed a woman in his life, so he met and married widow Laura Belle (Bragg) Ashley when they were both 71 years old. They were married October 02, 1942 -- this was the second marriage for both of them. He and Laura Belle had 6 happy years until Laura Belle died on September 20, 1948. Eli Hart died on July 11, 1953.
