Thomas Aveling (son of Thomas Aveling and Helen Kelfull) was born 16 January 1716/17 in Whittlesey, and died 3 December 1789 in Horsegate House, Whittlesey. He married Elizabeth Boone on 15 September 1741 in Thorney Abbey, Cambs Record Office, REF: P155/1/3, daughter of Thomas Boone and Elizabeth Boyce.

AVELING OF WHITTLESEY ISLE OF ELY.
Thomas Aveling bapt. at St Mary's Jan 30th 1716 succeeded to lands in his
father's life time and in 1731 to part of the Turves land.In Oct. 1752 he
bought 'Horsegate House' in St. Andrews parish with malting premises, from
John Laxon and also a house in Gracious St. with malthouse and bakery, and an
estate of 101 acres in Flegcroft, just outside Whittlesey, from George Keate
Esq., with a house and watermill.
He succeeded also to his brother Daniel's house and property at Davies Plash,
Blackbush, he also succeeded to land from his uncle Robert Kelfull's will 1780.
He was in business as a malster (and or Brewer?), and in 1789 he entered into
partnership with his son, John as farmers and graziers. He married at Thorney Abbey on Sept 15th 1741 Elizabeth Reason (widow) of William Reason. Elizabeth was the daughter of Thomas Boone and Elizabeth Boyse of Whittlesey
Elizabeth made her will on Nov 8th 1786 and died on Nov 1st 1788 and
was buried at St Andrews on the 4th Nov aged 78 years.
Thomas made his will on Dec 2nd 1789 he died at Horsegate house the next day
on Dec 3rd 1789 and was buried Dec 5th at St Andrews in which Parish the house
lay. ..... Joint Grave Stone St Andrew's Churchyard.
