John Aveling (son of John Aveling and Jane Speechley) was born 7 February 1814 in Horsegate House, Whittlesey, Cambridge, England, and died 6 September 1888 in Whittlesey, Cambridge, England. He married Elizabeth Bodger on 14 September 1841 in St Mary's, Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire, daughter of William Bodger and Elizabeth.

He died September 6th 1888, and was interred in the Whittlesey cemetery with his wife Elizabeth who died Feb.4th 1885,aged 69.
