Notes for Frank M. Brossart: Frank took up a life on the river at the age of fourteen for the White Collar Line and was in the service of that company for thirty-three years.. Thirty-five of the forty-two years of his steamboating he spent in the service of the old Mail Line Packet Co., holding different positions. He was steward on several boats on the Ohio River. Was also with the Green and Lee lines of boats. His last berth being on the Henry M. Stanley, from which he was forced to retire on account of his health. He was a member of Syracuse Lodge, K.P. Flags were flown at half mast on the Cincinnati Public Library Landing in his honor.
