Notes for Jeffrey Manning: Jeffrey was in Piscataway township, NJ as early as 1676 in which year he purchased land. He was one of three commissioners to lay out land grants in 1682 and was marshal of the first County Court of Middlesex, held at Piscataway in 1683. He was the ancestor of a family that has been large and influential in and beyond NJ and is evidently extensive to the present day.
