| The Ayers - pioneers from the Old World to the New World to the Appalachians. The Ayers branch that I am a proud member of are pioneers. We have never "stayed-put" for too long in any estabished area. As soon as our ancestors began to see smoke from their neighbor's cabin's, they generally moved on. If there were reasons they stayed longer, soon some of them got the "itch" and began to dream of "new world's to conquer". And as soon as they heard of those new worlds, they headed in that direction. These Ayers pioneers migrated from New England to the Appalachians and from there North, South and West. From the coal mines of the Appalachians to the gold mines of the West. Even West to Australia! where the big red rock in the middle of Australia is called "Ayers Rock". Definitely proof of the Ayers wanderlust. |
