The Ayton Family

I am researching my surname of Ayton. Although the name is of Scottish descent, my family and my father's family before him originate from Jamaica in the West Indies. We know there to be several relations of Scottish descent from which we originate, and so far this dates back to the colonial period. Should any of you have any information relating to the colonial days in Jamaica or the emigration of people of scottish descent during the 1890's or before I would be pleased to hear from you. I would also be interested in information regarding the marriage of whites to blacks in the very early days following the end of slavery.The Ayton family are prevalent in Mocco in the parish of Clarendon, where there are a large member of Ayton's from my great grandfather William Coleman Ayton.William Coleman had two brothers, one of which resided in another parish in Jamaica, of which I only have sparse details at present.I have so far gone backthree generations as follows: my father, Deford George Ayton b.1936 Jamaica d.1990 England, my grandfather: Edward Ayton b.1900 Jamaica d.1982 Jamaica, my great grandfather William Coleman Ayton circ b.1870 country unknown'.All members of our family have traditional Scottish names, such asLarklin, William, Edward, George or do I mean, very English names!Any information you can give me would be appreciated.
