I am researching information on the Backus or Backhouse family from central/southern West Virginia. I currently have information going back through the paternal line of Benjamin F. Backus, Henry Backus, Oliver Backhouse, Jonathan Backhouse and Joseph Backhouse. I would like to find more information to fill in the gaps and to find where Joseph and his ancestors came from and when. I have noted the surname in English references, but am unable to make a connection. I am willing to share this and other information I have on the Phillips, Pontious, Hart and other families. |
