The study of the Georgetown Cemetery was prompted by my paternal grandmother whose mother and father are buried there.

Information about the cemetery was obtained from descendents of the Bailey family, by consulting resources from the Lincoln Library in Springfield, IL and by personal visits to the cemetery site.
