| Have been researching the life of my great grandfather John Monroe Bacon and my great grandmother Rachel W. Newman. Have researched their lives from birth to death. My great grandmother's parents Samuel and Mary Newman and my great grandfather crossed the Oregon Trail in 1845. My great grandfather came across with Samuel K. Barlow and helped cut out the Barlos Road around Mt. Hood. The Newman family and my great gradnparents spent the remainder of their lives in Oregon. My great grandparents and numerous great aunts, uncles and cousins are buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Oregon City and other cemeterys in the Portland area. |
