Notes for Benjamin Franklin Bagby: Friday, 25 Apr 1924, Vol 38 No 1--BEN BAGBY DEAD--Benjamin Bagby, one of the most highly respected citizens and farmers in the county, residing northwest of town, died at his home at 10:30 Wednesday night, April 23, 1924, after an illness of several months, aged 65 years. He had been in poor health for several years, and a few months ago underwent a surgical operation at a Boonville hospital, but which relieved him for a time only, and he gradually grew worse until death released him from his sufferings. He is survived by his widow, three sons and three daughters. We are not advised as to the funeral arrangements. In the passing of Mr. Bagby, Randolph county has lost one of her very highest type of citizens--a man who always stood for the right under any and all circumstances, and who was as honest as daylight. We hope to give a more extended notice next week. (tanscribed article by Kathy Bowlin)
