On Pat's side of the house, we are researching the Bahan, Shelton, Truex, Loy, Shutters, Thompson, Hill, Prather, George, Cummings, Carmichael, Weathers, Rumpel, Lutz, Rogers, Crocket, Nowling, Boley, and Heimer families, among others, primarily of Brown, Jackson, and Washington Counties, IN. Pat's ancestors began settling in these counties as early as 1811. On Lee's side of the house, we are looking for the ancestors of RWS Edmond Carlisle, of David Craddock who m. Sally Dendy, of Dr. Pleasant W. Spear who m. Nancy Caffey, and of Zerah/Zeruiah Jones b. 2 Nov. 1849, Montgomery, AL. These are Lee's mother's ancestors, and they migrated from NC and SC through GA to AL. Lee's father descended from Valentine HARLAN (#746 in Alpheus Harlan genealogy): Don Sebastian Harlan m. Lucinda Morgan, Mortimer "Mark" P. Harlan m. Sallie E. Bennett, Lee Ondis Harlan m. Eva Valentine, Clyde Harlan m. Mary Ellen Clark. Ellie Clark's parents were Jessie Simpson Clark b. 1863, SC, d. 1939, Tuckerman, AR, and Winnie Roberts (m1 Love) b. 1861, SC, d. 1907, Hempstead Co., AR. Hunting for her father's line, Lee has developed a huge Harlan database and is happy to help others find their connection to the 1914 Harlan genealogy. |
