The Descendents of Johann Baecker / John Baker Home Page
I am just beginning a systematic internet search for finding the descendents of my Great-Great-Great Grandfather. I have inherited many of the family reunion records, etc., but still have a lot of people to find. (More details to follow in future updates.) Here's some of the basics: - Johann Baecker (John Baker) moved from Germany to Philadelphia in the 1830s? He landed with a son (Herman) and an unidentified daughter from a first marriage. Records seem to indicate that Herman moved across the river from Philly into Jersey. This trail goes cold at this point. - Johann married Mary Elisabeth Edel in Philly, but they eventually made their way into Dushore, Pennsylvania. Here their son Frank Ignatius Baker married Mary Anna Obert. - Over the next couple generations the family moved toward Indianna Pennsylvania. My father (John Obert Baker Jr.) moved to Hilton, New York in 1964. - I would love to get in touch with someone who could help me with either the "Herman in Camden" conection -or- the Oberts of Dushore, PA. |
